...well, at least I wouldn't have if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. This morning, we woke up to a beautiful, white, flurry of SNOW FLAKES. That's right, honest to goodness snow. Not ice, or hail, or freezing rain, but actual snow that was sticking to the grass and cars. Right here in Texas, where just last week we had beautiful, sunny weather in the 60s and 70s. Go figure.
So, what did we do? Well, we ran right outside and
built a snowman...made snow angels took some pictures. Ok, so it is not enough snow to actually
play in, but I had to at least get some proof that it actually
did in fact snow. And of course, document this for my daughter, as this may be the only snow she ever sees (alright, that might be a little bit of an exaggeration...).
Still don't believe me? Well, just look at my car! (I know it may be hard to see, but trust me, that's snow).

"Playing" in the snow.
It was short lived, but exciting to see nonetheless. I wonder when the last time it snowed here was? I should look that up or something.
Here in North Texas we usually get 1-2 inches of snow every 2-3 years. So snow is not that common nor rare....all at the same time. Check out www.srh.noaa.gov/fwd/?n=dmosnow for our monthly average snowfall over the last century. Unfortunately, we see more ice than fluffy snow. Maybe there will be enough for "playing" in Jan or Feb.

Ahh...thank you very much Gary! That's actually more snow than I would have expected. I thought it was only ice around here. Although, now it looks like we may have an actual snow storm coming. So who knows, maybe we'll get a good deal of snow this year! :)
