"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This week, I most certainly did not allow, nay, encourage, my daughter to walk around in my high-heeled shoes.

No, she is definitely too young for such behavior, so I would never help her when she asked to put them on, and then crack up as she paraded around the kitchen.  Nope, not me!

And of course after witnessing her silliness and dancing, I would promptly take the shoes away, NOT photograph her...

Not me!

So, what have you NOT been doing this week??

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This week, I was definitely NOT incredibly lazy, due to a ridiculous lack of sleep.  No, I always stay on top of the housework, especially when we have company coming to visit!  No, I never put off piles and piles of laundry, or scrubbing the shower and toilet in order to snuggle up on the couch to watch Friends and eat a brownie instead.  Not me!

And in my lazy state, my children and I would never spend an entire day in our pajamas, not a single bath or shower to be had.  No, we always get up, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and promptly get ourselves fresh and clean and ready to tackle the day!

And of course, what kind of example would I be if I got up and threw on the same shirt I wore the night before, because I decided to load myself and the kids in the car and drive to Target just to get Starbucks.  No, I am never that desperate for a cup of coffee, because I am so exhausted I am not even sure I have enough energy to sit on the couch.  No, not this mama!

So, what have YOU not been doing this week?? :)

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

I haven't participated in "Not Me!" Monday in a while, so I thought I was due to fess up to some things!   Not that I ever do anything silly, or inappropriate, because I totally have it all together, like I mentioned here, but I came up with a few things to share. ;)

Because I am always prepared and have everything I need at all times, I definitely show up to my doctor's appointments with everything ready to go.  So of course I would never drive all the way to the doctor (with my son), leaving my medication for my shot at home.  And I would never get to the appointment, get checked in, proceed to wait patiently in the waiting room, all the while not having my medication (which is half the reason I am there in the first place).  No, it would never take me thirty minutes to realize I am not even prepared for my appointment that I have been waiting so patiently for.

So then, I would never have to admit to the nurse that I have to leave, drive home, retrieve said medicine, and then drive back, all the while trying to keep my son happy and calm.  And of course, I would never let this happen just one hour before the office is closing.  So I would never have to rush home and rush back (with almost no gas left in my car) and make sure I get back in time to have my appointment, get my shot, AND try to keep my baby from fussing.  No, I would never be so scatter-brained as to turn a simple, quick appointment into a three and a half hour affair! :)

And of course, because I am always prepared, I always have meals planned ahead of time if we are going to be out of the house.  So when we packed up for church last night, I certainly did not neglect to pack something for my daughter to eat for dinner.  Knowing we would not be home until late, there's no way I would be so forgetful!  And so I would NEVER resort to feeding her cookies to hold her over until we could get home and enjoy some "real" food, because I make sure my children eat nothing but healthy, well-balanced meals at all times.

So what do you say?  What have you NOT been doing this week? :)

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This week, because I always plan ahead, I definitely did not wait until the last minute to order more diapers.  And because I have already purchased diapers from diapers.com, I would never try to set up an account in my husbands name so that we can use the amazing promotional code going on right now for new members to earn 500 bonus Pampers points.

And when that did not work, I would certainly NOT call a friend and ask to have the diapers shipped to her house, so that I could then, hopefully, qualify for the promotional code.

And when that did not work, I would not waste even more time by getting out my husbands computer, setting up yet another new account, and then trying again to have it shipped to my friends house.  All in an effort to get some bonus points.

And when all my hard work finally paid off, and I was able to get the code to work, I did not suddenly realize that it was a holiday weekend and, because of that, I would still not receive the diapers in time.  I did not then head to the store anyway, to buy even more diapers.  Not me!

No, I always think ahead and plan accordingly. ;)

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

UPDATE:

Well, you guys are good guessers :)

Last week, while attempting to make french toast, I did indeed melt my spatula. Completely in half.  Whenever I am in the kitchen, my daughter insists on being involved, which really means she screams and pulls at my pants leg until I hold her.  Meanwhile, my son was laying on his play mat in the living room, also screaming.  In an effort to appease my daughter and calm my son, I stepped away to find a way to keep my daughter distracted in the living room, and give my son a pacifier.  Unfortunately, I returned to a wonderfully burnt piece of french toast, and a melted spatula to boot.  Sigh.  Oh well, I guess that's what I get for trying to do too many things at once, instead of just waiting until my little darlings went down for a nap.  Haha!

Original Post:

Because I am always extremely careful when I tackle any kind of endeavor in the kitchen, I would never turn my back on something on the stove.  No, I am always prepared, and would never try to cook something with two small babies screaming in the background, no matter how hungry I am.

And of course I would never step away to tend to two beautiful screaming babies, leaving the stove, cookware and delicious food I was preparing to its own devices.  I am not so irresponsible that I would cause a hilarious mishap in the kitchen simply because I am trying to do too many things at one time.  No, not me!

But if I did, I would of course take a picture to share with all of you, to see if you can figure out what happened while I was in my living room.

So, any idea what happened?  Give it your best guess!! :)

"Not Me!" Monday

This week, I definitely did not catch my daughter handing her slobber-covered pacifier over to her brother, trying desperately to shove it violently sweetly hold it in his mouth for him.  No, she is well aware of the fact that it could be covered with germs, and that for that very reason they each have their own pacifiers.  And she would definitely not continue to insist that he take it and enjoy it, after multiple attempts, when he clearly had no interest or desire for said paci at all.

And of course, were I to become aware of such a precarious situation transpiring in my living room, I would certainly not stop, laugh, and capture every attempt on camera.  No, I would never condone such disgusting behavior by aiding and photographing it.

Hey, brother! You look like you need a pacifier to suck on.

Here, have mine!

You dropped it, but don't worry-I'll put it right back in your mouth!

No, in our house, we never ever share saliva from pacifiers.  Or anything else, for that matter.  ;)  What have you NOT been doing this week??

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This week, I did not spend entirely too much of my time blog hopping during the Ultimate Blog Party.  No, I have too many important things to do to waste such a huge amount of my time on the internet.  :) (But if I did, I definitely made tons of new friends AND won an Amazon.com giftcard, making it totally worth my time!!)

And this week I definitely did not lose a ridiculous amount of sleep because I was up all night anxious about going back to work (substitute teaching) for the first time since my son was born.  No, I am not so uptight a mom that I would be worried about being gone for just one day.  And I would definitely not be concerned about dad spending the whole day taking care of the kids by himself, because he is a perfectly capable and loving dad!  So of course I would never be worried that everyone would get fed, naps and medicine at the right times.  No, not me!  But if I did stay up all night, thinking of all the things that needed to get done in my absence, I definitely would not finally get up out of bed at the crack of dawn and cancel the job I had accepted.  No, that would be rude and irresponsible.  I would never do such a thing, and then quietly crawl back in bed for two more hours of sleep.  Especially considering I was a teacher, once upon a time, and would have hated to have a substitute cancel on me.  (Ok, truth be told, I did not think twice about what was going on in my classroom in my absence.  I was just happy to be getting a break! I did not have the best teaching job, but that is a whole other story...)

So what have YOU not been doing this week??

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

Yesterday before church, I definitely did not take one look at my daughter's tangled, unruly mess of hair and decide she was in desperate need of some grooming.  No, I am not so concerned that she look the part of the adorable, clean-cut PK that she is, that I would be so impulsive as to decide she needed a haircut right then.

And even if I did, I certainly would not rely on my own untrained self to do the job.   Haircuts are the job of professionals, not fed-up, spontaneous moms who only have a few minutes before it's time to leave for church!  No, I would never scoop her up and immediately proceed to trim her precious locks, right in the middle of the living room.  That would be crazy!

This is definitely something a cautious woman like me would never do.  And then I definitely would not spend the rest of the afternoon taking pictures of said 'do, admiring my handy work.  Nope, not me!

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

Because I am always prepared and always have everything I could possibly need when venturing out and about with the kids, I would never leave the house without an adequate change of clothes for each of them.  So of course, I would never be caught at the mall with only a clean shirt for my daughter and no pants.  Nope, not me!  So when she leaks out of her diaper, I would certainly not have to strip her down to her diaper and drive straight home for clean pants.  No, that would never happen!

And because I always learn from my mistakes, I would certainly not leave the house two days later without a clean pair of pants for her, again.  That's ridiculous!  So then, when she leaks out of her diaper at the doctor's office, all over her pants as well as mine, I would not be caught in the exact same predicament! No, not me!  And I definitely did not have to strip her down to her diaper again, and carry her out to the car pant-less.  Nope, not me!  I am always much smarter and thoroughly more prepared than that!!

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This week, I definitely did NOT let me daughter play on the floor of the doctor's office just to try and distract her to keep her from screaming.  And then I did not join her on the floor to keep her away from the trash can for hazardous waste.  What mother would let their child play around such expensive equipment and dangerous materials? Certainly not me!

I would also never use her lack of sleep and her "need" to get out of the house and drive around as an excuse for my husband and I to go out to dinner.  No, I would never substitute the 15 minute drive to the restaurant for a real afternoon nap!  And of course, once we were there, I would not let her munch on my french fries to continue to keep her quiet while we enjoy a relaxing dinner.

And what kind of irresponsible, unprepared mother would I be if I went out shopping without a sufficient supply of baby wipes?  I, of course, never leave the house without them, so I would never have the need to wipe off my daughter's spit-up covered face with my hand.  And I certainly would not then proceed to wipe the spit up on my pants, because that is just gross!

This week I definitely did not leave my poor baby in a dirty diaper because we were running late to get to the airport.  I absolutely would never sniff to see if it was poopy, then shrug and say, "Um, it'll be ok.  I can change it later."

And finally, this weekend, I most certainly did not dress my entire family in purple and gold from head to toe to celebrate the Homecoming that I was bitter about not being able to attend.  We then did NOT spend the rest of the evening in mourning because our usually tremendously successful football team got destroyed at our homecoming.

Join me next week to see what other crazy things I did NOT do!!

"Not Me!" Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.  GOOD TIMES! :)

This is officially my first "not me," so I'm pretty excited!  Hope you enjoy all the crazy things I absolutely did not do this week!!

This week I certainly did not put some of our groceries back at the grocery store so that I would have enough money to buy pumpkins to decorate our front porch.  No, I would never put pumpkins before food for my family!

Nor did I stuff my child's face with corn puffs, just to get her to stop crying.  I would obviously never encourage that kind of behavior!  I would also never leave her hanging out in her crib playing just so I can have a few more moments to myself.  No, I am not so selfish as to ignore my daughter like that!

And of course no one as polite and sweet as I am would ever sneak off with her husband for drinks (cherry coke of course!) and dessert at Applebee's for an impromptu date when they were supposed to be buying formula at Wal-Mart, leaving the fantastically patient and understanding in-laws at home with the baby.  No, I would never ever be so sneaky as that! Nope, not me!!
